Draughts is the most common board game in Zambia and Africa at large which is played everywhere including market places,work places, Schools, Prisons etc. Players enjoy and feel more comfortable to use nick names than their real names in the draughts community. Some of the Zambian interesting nick names are; Kennedy " Klinsman" Phiri, Alimon "Ronaldo" Mshanga, "Albert "Scorpion" Shamuwele, Elias " Kandende "Banda and etc.
It is scientifically proven that some people who make themselves busy with mind games notably draughts and chess,are rarely attacked by brain cancer/tuma and other brain complications as the saying goes,"an idol mind is the devil's work-shop". So far, Zambia has got more than 10 well known Top Masters and these are some of them ; Tentani Mwanzah, Albert Shamuwele, Kennedy Phiri, Mwaaza"Veteran"Sakala, Alimon Mshanga, Elias Banda, Dock Soldier, Inambao Inambao, Shabba Ranks and etc. The current four(4) feared players among the above mentioned players boasting in the lions den, are ; Tentani Moto Mwanzah, Kennedy"Klinsman"Phiri, Mwaaza Veteran Sakala and Albert Shamuwele.
